As seems always to be the case, another Right Wing attack of lies bites the dust in the face of reality. We have long known that the Right Wing's attacks on Acorn had nothing to do with voter fraud (in fact, not a single vote has been found to be illegally cast as the result of Acorn's activities), but was in fact just another attempt by the Right to disenfranchise the American people's right to vote...
Better late than never, I suppose. Thanks to the Democratic leadership for sticking it to an ally because they were so afraid of the manufactured controversy:
Vote fraud is virtually non-existent in the United States
Arrests for voter fraud are few, however, and convictions are even rarer.
Although the Bush administration began a stepped-up program in 2002 to crack down on people who cast ballots fraudulently, fewer than 100 people were convicted in the first 4 1/2 years of the program. And according to an analysis by Weiser's center, most cases of alleged fraud in recent years have turned out to be mistakes in the voter rolls that do not result in actual faulty votes cast.

rubbish. there is PLENTY of evidence that acorn should have been killed. voter registration fraud, and supporting illegal activities. acorn may have started out as a legitimate organization many years ago, but they transformed themselves into a criminal organization, and it needed to be killed.
