^ Calls for drug legalization have been there for quite some time - even among conservatives like Bill Buckley. I am not sure the nation is ready for it (yet). Makes sense though - our open-ended yet another war (on drugs) is not working out too well for us or our neighbors.
If you had ever talked to an American who had visited Mexico, you would know that it's one of the safest places in the world to visit. Except for the border areas near the US. Why do you think that is? Why do so many Americans keep taking their vacations there, if it such a terrible place as you think? What's really rich is people like you who are living in one of the most violent crime ridden societies in the world, looking down at other countries.

You legalize marijuana and you'd single handedly see this drug problem dissolve overnight. Allow American farmers to grow and governmen to tax hemp/pot and you'd balance the budget in a year. But Calderon better watch out......if that happened Mexico's economy would implode overnight. So yeah..........I'd love to get a little revenge on that craphole of a country for all the illegals they send through to us every year stealing our resources and sucking off the hardworking American tax payer. Legalizing weed does nothing about crack, heroin, coke, the whole shabang. Of course your not taking into consideration the unintended consequences of legalizing weed like creating more drug addicts who then move onto the next best thing. Then there is the driving while smoking. Any test on the market that can detect when one is able to drive? One bong hit or two over the limit?

I agree. What the hell is wrong with south Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands? Heck, the water off Puerto Rico and the USVI is as warm or warmer than the Yucatan and the air temp is higher
