Appalachia is a region of mostly conservative Democrats. But, like a typical liberal, you are ignorant of the fact that Appalachian people almost always vote Democrat, at least on the state level

Quite true. FDR is a revered figure there. Much of the political persuasion there was formed from Democrat policy. New Deal, the TVA, etc are still very fresh in the minds of that population. It is interesting how many modern liberals equate rural folks automatically with rabid right wing thought. It just ain't so.
