How about we make a law where if you are on welfare or unemployment for more than 6 months, you are deported out of this country to Mexico or Haiti or something. I don't even think we should waste money throwing these welfare recipients in jail, lets just get rid of them so we have a country full of tax paying productive workers. I think that alone will solve our budget problems.
First of all, Mexico or Haiti won't take them. Second, you can't deport your own citizens. You can stop supporting them with taxpayer money however. The Bible says that a man who will not work should not eat.
So deport unemployed, many of whom are unemployed by no fault of their own? Yikes. This country is already being flushed down the toilet, why help it along with that idea?
Why would anyone assume that other countries would WANT to accept our unemployed? It's not like the US government can just dump a person in another country without that country's permission....unless it's a basket case like Somalia or Afghanistan.
Also, I'd like to point out that it takes a person far longer than six months to find a job, esp in this economy. Granted, a lot of people are too picky and end up staying longer on unemployment but many work hard to find a decent job that will pay their bills and come up empty. Such is life.

I'm just speechles. This has got to be the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. I know plenty of people who were unemployed for more than 6 mos. that managed to find good productive jobs..it may have taken them 9mos. or a year but they're productive now
