Not enough to police the kids at school, now Food Sheriff Michelle Obama wants restaurants to give everyone smaller portions at their establishments.

"A team of advisers to Mrs. Obama has been holding private talks over the past year with the National Restaurant Association, a trade group, in a bid to get restaurants to adopt her goals of smaller portions and children’s meals that include healthy offerings like carrots, apple slices and milk instead of French fries and soda, according to White House and industry officials."

Meanwhile, no carrot sticks and celery at the White House yesterday:

"...the menu for the 100 or so guests at the White House bash is tailgate-friendly even if served inside the Executive Mansion:bratwurst, kielbasa, cheeseburgers, deep-dish pizza and Buffalo wings with sides of German potato salad, twice-baked potatoes and assorted chips and dips."

I'm telling you, we aren't far away from drug dealers chucking the drugs and selling banned food and soft drinks on the street corners and restaurants having to give up buffets while Nucky Thompson keeps the food flowing in the White House.

Did you complain about the Koch brothers talking with the USSC to push their agenda?
What a wonderfully partisan thread.

What a hypocrite Meechelle Obama is. Not a pretty mental image of her devouring pounds of chicken wings at the White House Superbowl party. Eeeewwww!

Guess they'll have to go to the WH if they want the FREEDOM to eat like they want to every once in awhile.

First of all, how do you know the kids didn't eat carrots, and celery? You don't.

Second, how do you know what portion sizes they ate? You don't.

And it's not HER portions sizes, it's what we've been told for years. Probably, a lot more of those complaining probably need to push away from the table than her. Some of her critics probably should put themselves on a "portion" deficit.

Instead of hearing the message, I love how they heckle the messenger.

Love it. Put some more cheese on it.

The second most common dem trait, someone else says something they like, they plagiarize it and try to act as it that was their own original thought.

Exactly. Until Mooshell drops 50 or 60 pounds, who can take her serious on the subject of healthy eating? Judging by her weight, she obviously knows very little about healthy eating.

Have you visited an all you can eat buffet lately? Half the people there need a cart to haul around their backsides. We are a FAT country. It's not my business that someone over eats, but I'd like to have healthy choices when we go out to eat at at least some restaurants, especially the ones that market heavily to kids.

Is anyone MANDATING that restaurants serve smaller portions? Are they MANDATING that restaurants serve carrot sticks and apple slices on kids menus? Come off it. I have 5 kids who are all athletes and very health conscious. I really like having the OPTION of being able to make healthy choices off of a restaurant menu, and the truth is, it's probably good for their business--lots of parents have become more focused on nutrition and healthy eating, and it's becoming a huge focus of sports training with student athletes.

Keep burying your head in the sand! After all, it is for the greater good to deny America has a malignant obesity problem. You can criticize the Obamas!
