Many of these protesters probably are far left, and probably do want to "end capitalism" or something equally stupid. However, I think it is wrong to characterize the entire protest this way.
From the folks that characterize all Tea Party protesters as racist. Rich.

Figured Michael Moore would turn up, he's like the Al Sharpton of quasi-populist protest.

I bet he leaves for lunch.

There are a LOT of really pissed off people out there. Maybe this is the start of a debtor's rebellion. The most effective thing to do is pay off and cut up the credit card. Swithch to cash.

You want to see a stolen future? Here's what will happen if these protesters get their way:

Tax the rich and take all the money that is "more than they need". The result will be a situation where nobody will earn more than the minimum. Now those people will have barely enough to live on. So they'll have to turn to the new tax payers, these kids, to pay a LOT more. Can't have granny eating dog food, can we. Even if granny had the means, motivation and desire to make it rich. Instead, she pissed it away on latte's and iPods, and is left with nothing. Because her choice was to spend it, or give it to the government.

What's there to get? Two parties enter into an agreement, where one party loans money to another, with the understanding that the loanee will pay back that loan, with interest.

Now the loanee wants to walk away from the agreement. So now you don't believe in honoring contracts?

Well, the rich bankers expect handouts.

the poor folks expect handouts.

it's not clear to me what the protesters expect. I'm sure some of them expect handouts.

Of course, nobody calls it a "handout". Businesses, for example, usually call their handouts "incentives." Old people don't consider their Medicare a "handout", but it is. Banks call their handouts "liquidity." I suppose there are some who want their handout to be in the form of a dischargable student loan, or free higher education, or something along those lines.
