McConnell tries to force Reid's hand on Obama jobs bill - latimes.com

Quote:
As the president in Texas urged Congress to vote on his jobs bill, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell threw the Senate a curveball on Tuesday by trying to do just that.

“I agree with the president, I think he’s entitled to a vote on his jobs bill,” the Republican leader said on the Senate floor as he tried to force an immediate vote on the American Jobs Act by attaching it to unrelated legislation.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid refused.
Well, why not let the bill come up for a vote Dirty Harry? Why are YOU obstructing the president's jobs bill?

Quote:
Reid used a procedural move known as “filling the tree” – a tactic Reid has perfected during his tenure in the Senate leadership. Filling the tree involves loading legislation with amendments until the limit is reached. Since the majority leader enjoys the right of first recognition – which means he can offer amendments before anyone else – Reid managed to fill the tree before Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) could offer the president’s jobs plan as an amendment to a bill cracking down on Chinese currency manipulation.

obama wants the same old;sameold that has failed for the last years he has been in power. He just can't get anyhting close to compromise done with his naming a new evil group from day one in power. All one has to do is wtch senate and congressional eharings when Beranke is testiying to see congress has truned to him on jobs and the economy. Obama is no longer relatent tot eh discussion. listen to the senate finance commmiteee meetingsd to see now far off he is from what is being discussed.Even wqatching foreign leadewrs they talkabout the congress making changes and never mention Obama really.

That is funny. Calling the left on their bluff. That vote will never occur and if it does it will be late on a friday after Obama's taxpayer funded campaign tour to vilify the evil rich is over.

This was a needed move by the Republicans to highlight the true obstructionists and hypocrites in this - the Democrats.

Reid has been doing this since January.
"He's gonna show them alright" cause they lost the House in 2011.

Obama can't even get a Democrat in the House or Senate to co-sponsor this bill.

Remember when the MSM told us over and over what a genius he was?

Reid knows he can't pass the bill with the tax hikes with the Democrats against it... so he is trying a different way with a tax "surcharge"... does he think the people are idiots... or maybe he just thinks liberals are idiots...
