I find it interesting that the same people condemning Mr. Thomas will defend Obama to the end.
Mr. Obama"s questionable associations are explained away as though they are of no importance. The use of Chicago thug tactics and strong arming are acceptable.
I am neither a fan nor anti- Thomas.
Looking at qualifications, Obama's selection of Sotomayor is one that deserved scrutiny. Just what exactly made her a good choice???? Well she did satisfy the hispanic voters. But other than that she has no real qualifications.
One must ask was Sotomayor the best choice? Were there no more qualified judges to select from? Its unfortunate that these selections are made based on political ideology rather than qualifications.

Someone may not be required to complete a IRS 1040, but if they do and they lie, it's a crime.

If Thomas was not required to disclose, he shouldn't have. If he signed a false statement, that's a crime.

What questionable associations? Any that the right have claimed have been shown to be discredited.

Well of course you are wrong.

Justice Clarence Thomas Amends Financial Disclosure Reports With Virginia Thomas' Employers - ABC News

""It has come to my attention that information regarding my spouse's employment required in Part III B of my financial disclosure report was inadvertently omitted due to a misunderstanding of the filing instructions," Thomas wrote in a letter to the committee that handles the reports.
The Ethics in Government Act of 1978 requires all federal judges to disclose their spouse's employer. They are not required to list the total income."

Thomas

"A more careful review shows that this was about the most venial lapse imaginable. The Times does not even describe Thomas’s lapse correctly. Here is his 2006 Financial Disclosure Report. On page 2, Thomas checks the box “No Reportable Non-Investment Income†for his wife. The form states that Thomas was not required to give amounts. Yet the Times implies that Thomas failed to report $686,589 in income. Strictly speaking, that is true. But Thomas had no obligation to report $686,589 in income! At most, he was required to report merely that his wife had income, and identify the source"

Yes, he amended it after he got snagged. It is also ethically questionable for Thomas' wife to be on the payroll of a group trying to void the health care law while her husband gets to vote on the matter.

The fact that the righties refuse to see the ethical conflict is disturbing or should be.

But IOKIYAR.

Sorry, the attempts by the left to create a scandal where none exists, has been met with a collective yawn for good reason.

He talks all the time in speeches, he just stop asking questions because every time he does he is blasted by blacks for not being an extreme left wing idiot.
So what? His job is as a Supreme Court Justice. His job is to ask questions during arguments.

He got sick of it and just listens to the good questions of the other justices. Keeps life simple in his opinion.
The last thing a person responsible for the judicial direction of the United States of America should want is simplicity. The law is complex, and the issues that come before the Court are complex. The last thing we need is an ideologue for whom these issues are too complex for him to deal with.

I hope that they finally are successful at destroying this incompetent Justice. He is an insult to the seat once held by the great Thurgood Marshall.
Racist!

This is racist. Is there only one seat on the Supreme Court for a black man?
