The conservatives are all about cutting spending. One thing that can be cut January 1 is the defense budget. So I would expect a bill coming from the Republicans to cut the defense budget.

Yup, Republicans do want to cut out waste in the military.

Now that we're out of Iraq, we can save money, until we have to go back and root out the Iranians who will happily fill the vacuum Obama has left.

Don't you know that when Mullahs rule, that people aren't free?

Chalk another one up for Obama the Socialist.

Well we're now in Uganda (100 combat troops sent) and Syria is having problems.
I wager we'll just pick a new country to invade than cut the budget.

So you believe we should stay in Iraq is that right? Who cares who rules in the ME countries. Isn't it their countries? Let them work it out. As I was saying, I would expect a budget that calls for decrease in military spending from the Republicans now.

Well I agree, but If you cut the military budget, Obama can't send anyone anywhere. That takes money. Congress has it within their power to cut the purse strings. I would expect to see such a bill coming out of the house. Have not seen it yet.

They found money to spend 5 months in Libya droning the heck out of them.
They will spend money whether they have it or not.

Fear the people with the War on Terror and tell them they'll be blown up in their beds if the US military doesn't get money and they will fall right in line.

That is what's being done today and it's working.

I read about that. The majority of Americans don't care about foreign policy because there is too much wrong at home.

Domestic issues are tops with Americans these days, not which country should we bring Freedom and Democracy to next.
