Every time a statist tries to criticize a libertarian, something like "well I guess you're against public roads, libraries, etc. then" which is so far from truth.
Milton Friedman said government as local as possible was the best way to govern because then you could truly balance the costs (taxes) with the benefits in deciding if you wanted a government program or not, because you could truly see the benefits, they are local TO YOU.
As a libertarian living in Arlington County, Virginia, I was more than pleased to write them a check for my car taxes and decal because I SEE my tax dollars at work, and I know if something fails I have a vote to change how these tax dollars are used. In fact, I'm OK knowing that some of my LOCAL tax dollars are being used to help subsidize low-income housing at the LOCAL LEVEL. What's more, I am proud to pay a reasonable 5.5% income tax and 6% sales tax in Virginia because I know those dollars are going to good use and our state government isn't corrupt because both democrats and republicans in Richmond do a pretty solid job governing. Can't say the same for my federal taxes going overseas to Iraq, to prop up Israel, or help Brazil with oil exploration.
Well to answer your question calling libertarians anarchists is a way to diminish libertarians without dealing with their arguments. This is no different than calling all Democrats socialists and leaving it at that.
At the local level in Virginia? That state receives tons and tons of federal aid. So for you to say that you pay resonable taxes now gives me no indication of how your state would fair without the federal teat to suckle on. Where would Virginia be if Uncle Sam weren't providing so many of your fellow Virginians jobs?

There are various layers to libertarians. For instance, most Americans would say that they want as limited a government as they possibly can. Then if you ask them if the government should allow people to die in the streets without healthcare, 70% people would disagree with that.
The point is, people want to be taken care of, but they don't want to pay for it.
I don't know one libertarian who, when they get cancer, won't take the treatment offered them by the government if they can't afford their own. And who can afford 5 million dollars in hospital bills? Oh, you have insurance? Until the healthcare law was signed, your provider could drop you saying you had a pre-existing condition.
Government isn't always bad, and it isn't always good. Statist and Libertarian, we are both, and neither.

That has absolutely nothing to do with the principle or point I am trying to convey. The point is, governance at as local a level as possible is better for society. Start your own thread if you want to change the subject/troll.

Really? I am merely stating that part of the reason that your state government is able to do what it is currently doing is because of federal largesse. Those thousands upon thousands of federal workers in Virginia are also paying that state income and state sales tax. However, if you are unwilling to accept that reality, that is fine with me.
