But today ? We have Generals getting fired for opposing opinions. We also had a General re-assigned early on for disagreeing in public with the President.

I dunno anymore..these are different times.
Come again? Generals are soldiers, and that means that they're hired not to formulate policy, but to carry it out. It doesn't matter if you're a lieutenant blabbing to the press about your battalion commander's ineptitude or a general disagreeing with the CINC in public - both are career-changing events.

Now, officers can of course contradict their superiors in private all they want. But going public with one's concerns completely destroys unity of command, and that endangers the mission.

He could have ordered them to capture him just as easy knowing he had no protection around him.

Then he could have sent him to Gitmo to await a trial.

Oh wait, he said he was closing Gitmo.

Oh wait, we have forgotten about the 9-11 killers, do they not get a trial now? Since Obama has declared himself the judge and the jury. Since Obama and Holder screwed that entire NYC thing up we have not heard a peep out of them.

Title of the thread is a lie, even the title of the link says differently.

In what kind of twisted mind does former Navy seal = team 6? From the link

Quote:
The details of the mission, which was codenamed Operation Neptune’s Spear, are revealed in a book by the Seals' former commander, Chuck Pfarrer.

Lolz. Do you really think any president, democrat or republican, wouldn't want to take as much credit as possible for killing the man responsible for the worst attack on American soil? It's pretty pathetic how people resort to any means necessary to discredit someone because they don't agree with their policies. But hey two wrongs make a right huh?

Actually, this thread shows how useful and effective propaganda and disinformation is.

This "piece" reaffirms the Bin Laden was killed by Seal Team 6 hoax ....when the truth is, he'd been dead for years.

No one seems able to figure out anything anymore.

Members of SEAL Team 6 killed in crash in Afghanistan - WTKR (http://www.wtkr.com/news/wtkr-seal-crash-update,0,772662.story - broken link)

The great Seal Team 6 kills Bin Laden. Then the great Seal Team 6 parish in an unfortunate chopper crash.

Then, some alleged Seal claims... blah, blah, blah.

How stupid can human beings be?

Some put much credibility into journalistic endeavors akin to the National Enquirer, this story seems to be coming from just such a paper.

As for those that would rather believe this journalistic pablum than the word of their own President and staff? the wheels have well and truly come off the wagon and reality can now be made up on the fly..

I see. So what did actual team members say?

There were some folks who were in Nuremberg who thought the same thing, it didn't get them very far.
