I hear, quite a bit on this forum, that there are plenty of people on the left that are very unhappy with Obama. Okay, so here's your chance to change that; the election in 2012. My question is simple. If you are unhappy with Obama, who would you support instead? Are there any potential candidates you would support or are you going to chose to vote along party lines even given your current dissatisfaction? Do you honestly believe Obama's performance will get better if you help to elect him to another term?

I am quite curious to understand the mindset of some here. I, for example, hated what Clinton did to our military but actually thought he did an acceptable job as President. He did actually compromise with the right in the best interest of our country on several issues even while I may have disagreed with some of his policies. But, overall, his willingness to go to the center was in the best interest of our country. Do you believe we can achieve this again and with who?

Do you actually think any of us are going to say Cain, Gingrich, Perry or Bachmann? I wouldn't leave my kids alone with any of them.

If I'm unhappy with Obama, it's because he hasn't been tough enough against the impossibly irresponsible Republicans. But I have hope that next term he'll stop trying to be so bi-partisan, and will start pleasing his base.

Those on the left that are disappointed with Obama have no one to be disappointed with but themselves. The left finally thought they found the Socialist Messiah but instead found just another corporate imperialist stooge.

The cycle never ends.

Actually, we have the GOP to be disappointed with for offering no reasonable alternatives.

As a registered voter in Virginia, I voted for Obama in 2008 and will do so again in 2012. I'm pretty happy.

I have a great career, make good money, travel all over the world, no debt whatsoever, nor have I ever been foolish to buy things I could not afford. Life is good, and Obama has been a pretty decent president in turning around the Bush mess. We aren't there yet, but when you compare President Obama to the current crop of GOP clowns, loons, dolts, and lying flip-floppers that are running for president, there is no contest. Obama/Biden '12.

The left may ***** and moan about Obama, but they will line up behind him like good little lemmings once again come election day.

I am having a hard time trying to figure out why no good Republican will run this year.

Have they all decided going so far to right to get the base will not win the election.

There are a bunch of folks out here like myself who are neither R or D due to the hard line adopted by the "base".

I will vote for Ron Paul in the primary. If another candidate prevails, I will not vote in the POTUS race. Or I will figure whatever Obama is or does, it cannot be as bad as the Republicans currently in DC.

We are going down the toilet at warp speed. I don't have any interest in the national motto, or ridding the nation of birth control. Jobs and interest are the priority.

Both sides would take us all down in order to get a leg up in the next election.
