You'll be happy to read my latest post where you do see we tax everyone the exact same, equal rate.

We of course don't tax every single income the same rate, because it would be obscene to take money from someone who is barely able to afford milk for her babies.

Tax Brackets (Federal Income Tax Rates) 2000 through 2011
Lol, you can make any point you want, but you would be wrong. The effective tax rates for different tax brackets are different. Thus a progressive tax rate.

On another note. Someone living in the Northeast has a much higher COL then say the southeast or plains states. Should they pay a lower rate in taxes then someone earning the same in a different part of the country?

Ok I'm a "republican" and I don't think the poor should pay any more taxes than they already do. Most republicans probably feel this way.

Also, middle class Americans generally enjoy FAR MORE tax breaks than do those earning lower incomes. Fringe benefits - often untaxed - often represent one-third or more of a middle class American's total compensation.

Again, shore, every American pays the same taxes on income up to X amount of dollars. That's equal. That's fair. That's common sense.

It would be wrong to tax millionares at a 40 percent rate on the first $10,000 they make when we're only taxing other people 10 percent on the first $10,000 they make. That would be unequal and unfair. That's why we don't do it.

A childless adult working full time at minimum wage pays $500 federal income tax.

Thanks to the Bush Tax Cuts (TM) and expanded child tax credits, tens of millions of PARENTS are not paying federal income tax.

How can I make this simpler for you, working?

Every single Americans pays the same percentage on the first $10,000 they make. Every single Americans pays the same percentage on the first $10,000-35,000 they make. Every single American pays the same percentage on the first $35,000-84,000 they make.

You don't get this? Americans aren't treated unequal. We all deserve equal treatment under the law. That's why that's what we get. The "moral dilemma" of unequal tax rates the right is trying to push simply doesn't exist.
