In unusually strong language, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton compared the struggle for gay equality to difficult passages toward women's rights and racial equality, and she said a country's cultural or religious traditions are no excuse for discrimination.
"Gay rights are human rights, and human rights are gay rights," she said.
Clinton's audience included diplomats from Arab, African and other nations where homosexuality is criminalized or where brutality and discrimination against gay people is tolerated or encouraged.
"The Obama administration is announcing a wide-ranging effort to use U.S. foreign aid to promote rights for gays and lesbians abroad, including combating attempts by foreign governments to criminalize homosexuality."
Great, our tax dollars are much better spent meddling the politics of homosexuality in Uganda than they would be spent here building a bridge or repairing a road.
Personally being a "gay" is wrong and I sure don't want my tax dollars going toward promotion of any " rights".Millions of Americans don't have jobs when that money could be put toward road repair, education you name it.This country is such joke more so than it already is .
