We hear a lot about Obama taking away our rights, so I'm just curious to know which rights people have lost since he took office.

The right to smoke without being bankrupted by SCHIP.

Aw, come one. With such a megalomaniac, left-wing, commie dictator in the White House, surely you can do better than that.

So, you were not satisfied with the answer, so you complain about it?

You start small, nobody pays attention....then...........

The right to keep more of my own money.

Eventually, the right to make decisions about my patients in consultation with them instead of in consultation with a government bean counter.

You know there isn't a right to keep more of your money and, in any case, taxes are apolitical. Both parties raise and lower taxes all the time.

As for that other comment? Please be more specific. Do you really think you'll have to consult a bureaucrat before ordering tests or treatments and how is that different from dealing with insurance company actuaries?

How about the right to not have health insurance.

Not that I would want to NOT have it, but now it is MANDATORY to have it, or you get taxed.

You have a right to not have health insurance? Where is that in the Constitution? Obviously, being compelled to have insurance IS Constitutional, according to the Supreme Court, but where is the "right" not to have it?

The Constitution is a charter of negative liberties,

If we have no right to go without, then why has so many gone without for hundreds of years..?

Actually, that's no true at all.

The SCOTUS only ruled that a TAX for not buying it is Constitutional. They rejected the idea that it was Constitutional under the Interstate Commerce Act to force people to buy insurance or pay a penalty alone.
