That's odd. Are you sure? I would expect the response to be it's her body and she can do what she wants with what comes from it.

They call that a memorial? If they really loved the fetus they should jar it, bring it home, and put it on the mantel Barbara Bush style.

Many love their children before they are born, talk to them while they are still in the oven. If they were to die a month before or after birth they would still love them. You can hate an enemy you've never seen or love a friend or relation you've only heard about.

What say you?

Why did the Duggars photograph a stillborn baby? - Duggar family - Salon.com

When the Duggar family announced last week that the baby Michelle was carrying had died in utero, it seemed the Internet couldn’t have any less sympathy toward the fertile-to-a-fault brood. Commenters right here on Salon called them “an obscenity†who are “unfairly crowding the planet with [their] disgusting obsession†and “selfish, polluting choices,†who were, in essence, “asking for it.†Then the Duggars really ticked people off.

Making good on their promise to both name and hold a memorial for the baby, the Duggars had a service Wednesday for the child they named Jubilee Shalom Duggar. At it, they shared a card that read “There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on the world†that featured a photo of the baby’s tiny feet, and another one of “Michelle holding Jubilee’s hand.â€

It didn’t take long for the images to get out – the family’s young cousin Amy Duggar promptly tweeted “RIP precious Jubilee Shalom Duggar! Can’t wait to meet you someday, thank you Lord for giving our family peace†along with a photo. The Duggars soon also ran the photo of Jubilee’s hand on their family Web page. TMZ then went with the story, setting in motion a whole new level of Internet outrage at the family’s “sick sick sick†and “disgusting†behavior. But is it really that odd?

Well first, the OP title is a bald faced lie.

I am a liberal, didn't know about the photo, don't care, and there is NO proof whatsoever that Liberals are descending into 'madness" over this.

Do I find the Duggars disgusting attention hogs who use breeding children to make money? Yes.

Am I descending into madness over yet another set of stupid money grubbing people with no taste?

Hardly....

I completely agree.

The only thing that comes close to "sending me into madness" is when right-wingers read an article by a moderate or liberal, label it "left wing", and then assume that all liberals agree with it.

You miss what could have been, the expectations, the dreamed of. while I was pregnant, my babies did things that were unique to them. (tho' i'm sure others have had similar things ) My oldest had hiccups, and would kick in response to taps on the belly. Both my kids had a certain way of laying. My oldest was a preemie and ultra sound photos show him laying exactly the same way he did for many nights after he was born. He had would hold his ear, like he was a afraid of losing it. It was too cute.
I don't find the photos, naming, ceremony odd at all. I may not have chosen to go public with them , but to each his own.
I've had a miscarriage, so I know the pain. I am also a twin, or would have been, but my twin died in utero. My mom says I knew, or sensed, even before they told me, that I should have had an "other half"
