It's not so much that conservatives hate Europe as it is liberals want to make America more like Europe and conservatives resist that. Europe is a cool place but that's because of their history and culture, not their government.
See, if we made it easier for liberals to move to Europe, you could be rid of many of us. Or we could make the West Coast Little England and join the EU.
I'm pretty conservative but I have no hatred for Europe. Their political and welfare entitlement views are different than mine... but that's no reason to hate them.

the issue is they are no different than us, they are fighting tooth and nail to keep the good life.
the difference is the students there have the good sense to demonstrate in the streets with the unions, to save their future jobs when they graduate. unlike here, where they let old dad fight the battles and sit on the couch playing x box. btw i commend the occupy wallstreet kids, they are the only y generation people awake, the rest are sleep walking.

It's very weird considering that most Republicans competing in the Republican primaries have European roots.

Huckleberry, I commend the OWS kids too. I'm too young for the 60s protests but I like that these guys are standing up now. It may not come to anything but they are learning to stand up for something.
I'm assuming you're speaking about Western Europe. I disagree with their nanny statism and cradle to the grave entitlement mentality; I think they are being very foolish in rejecting their faith in God; and I grow very frustrated with American liberals who think we should adopt their big government, values, ideas, and way of life. But I certainly don't hate them. I personally believe Western Europe is an awesome place to visit and I cannot wait to go back.

Rejecting their faith in god? If you don't believe in it, you don't believe in it. There is nothing you can do about it. Just like you can't tell yourself to like pizza or broccoli when you simply don't.
I hate Europe, mainly German and France, because they along with Turkey (who was trying to get in the EU and denied the 4th ID from landing prior to invasion) tried to screw us in the Iraq war and get oil trading started up full scale in euro's.
