Funny from someone who just commented - incorrectly - on California's driving laws. And seeing as the elections have federal consequences, I'd say it concerns me quite a bit.
It will on Sunday. A car cannot be towed or impounded if the only offense is being unlicensed.
In Texas, voters can present a gun permit but not college-issued identification.
Doesn't that defeat the purpose of having a photo ID to vote?
It does seem kind of weird, doesn't it? But we all know who those college kids are goign to vote for, don't we?

That being said who doesn't have a photo ID nowadays? You pratically need it for everything!
If you're middle-class and established. The bottom 5-10 percent tend not to even have bank accounts (hence the check cashing places in bad neighborhoods), and if they don't drive, what do they need it for?

Concealed handgun licenses in Texas are photo ID's and they are issued by the state. College-issued ID's are not issued by the state through the Department of Public Safety, which also issues driver's licenses and state ID cards. I suppose you could argue that ID's from state universities are indirectly, but you know the difference.

I know, so why are you liberals so upset by voter ID laws?

They need one even to get food stamps in some places.

I'm actually not upset! You should be able to provide a photo ID regardless!
