There is no such thing as sin. "Sin" presupposes that something is only bad because "God doesn't like it." Things are bad because they harm other people. If it doesn't harm anyone or infringe on their rights (like eating shellfish or wearing cotton/poly blend clothing, it is not a sin, nor is it an abomination).
I'm sorry, but you and like-minded Christians don't make a strong case for anyone to want to follow a God who spends his time worrying about what people get up to in the bedroom. Sounds awfully petty when there are much bigger things to worry about in the world.
Majority of people in this country believe there is sin, and consequence for sin, and it is not about worrying about what other people do in their bedrooms. The discussion is about gays imposing their lifestyles on children in our schools. There are laws which force teachers to rub homosexuality in the faces of children and their parants have no say in it. It would be great if they could keep it in their bedrooms, but when they bring it to the class rooms and into the lives of young children against the will of their parents, then there is something seriously wrong with it.
How does one control their feelings and attractions that are caused by chemical reactions? You can't consciously decide what you find attractive and what you don't. You can't control who you fall in love with, it just happens. It's like ice cream flavor. Why do some people like vanilla and some like chocolate? A person who only likes vanilla and finds chocolate to be gross, cannot be forced to like chocolate.
The only thing you can control is your behavior.
We can control our thoughts and desires---it takes discipline, no one said was easy. Something people do not want to do now a days is something that is hard.
You don't think procreation is any big deal? That would be the most important thing for future generations. You can even see it in society now. Contracepting and aborting ourselves out of existence. No God would want His creation to do that. That is not petty.
Really? Contracepting and aborting ourselves out of existence?

You references to gods show that you don't live in reality, but this is ridiculous.
We already know the answer to that. "We, as Christians are no longer under the old law because Jesus fulfilled it, so we don't have to follow it".
Of course, that doesn't stop those giant hypocrites from quoting the anti-gay passages, because they don't have to worry about following or not following that one.
That means gays are an easy target.
The new testament also says should grace abound that sin abound -God forbid. it is written.
I disagree. My personal view on sex ed is something similar to what I went through.
In 5th grade, introduce the subject, but nothing more than "Boys have penises, girls have vaginas, and it's wrong to get fondled"
6th grade, expand a little on the subject, but not get too far
7th-8th grade, expand on sexualities and such, because by then most kids are having attractions towards others and for some outside the norm (bi/homosexuals), it can be quite confusing, and for some, going to their parents is NOT an option. (As evidenced by some posters in this thread.)
This is also a good point to get into reproduction and STDs.
9th-10th, start discussion regarding safe sex, and if necessary, demonstrate how to use birth control properly.
And as always, all of this should be completely opt-outable for those parents who are still too touchy regarding the subject.
HAHAHAHAHA I think you prove the point that teaching sex in schools has failed miserably. You are into swinging and all kinds of sex because you like it and want it. You are beyond being responsible. I don't think even gays want what what you are preaching.
Basic logic Tara. It doesn't matter if humans were made higher. If God created homosexual animals, that means homosexuality is part of God's design, and thus cannot be inherently wrong, unless God can be wrong.
If God never intended homosexuality to exist in his creation, it wouldn't exist among the species that can not choose it, or understand that it's wrong.
Do you not know of the fall of man and creation? I thought you read your bible?

If he/she is into swinging and all kids of sex because he likes it and want it, doesn't that kinda obliterate your theory that teaching sex in school has failed miserably?
@The whole "no God would want HIs creation to (use conception and abort)
My God doesn't care either way.
As a matter of fact, He really doesn't care about His "creations" other than keeping Him away from boredom
And that kind of thinking leads to swinging. God DOES care but it may be too late for you when you find out that out. You may have AIDS by then.
