Yes and anybody who's ever been a landlord knows the tenant always takes pristine care of your property while they are there.

If this happens alot of RE investors will get burned when those in foreclosure start renting from the Government.

House flippers will be left holding onto homes that they won't be able to rent out while trying to time the market, which would be a good thing as that's where this bubble started with.

This program if started would be a disaster with the government paying for upkeep, repairs and managing tons of devalued homes where the present tenants couldn't care less anymore.

It would end up being another type of section 8 where the taxpayers would get left holding the bag.

Local RE would still decline and many of these renters would milk this for as long as they could, then bail.
