It is not a joke.

Statistics | RAINN | Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network
Every 2 minutes someone is raped.
44% of rape victims are under 18 years of age.
80% are under age 20.
One in aa6 women will be raped.

Thanks for minimizing their pain and making a joke of it.
If this thread offends you try clicking your mouse. Your attempt to stifle political discourse is going nowhere.

Your use of a violent crime and minimizing the effect it has on the mostly women that are victims does nothing to support political discourse.
It is a silly attempt to minimize a very violent crime to make your political statement.

Perhaps you'll change your tune when one out of six women, perhaps your mother or grandmother or daughter, get raped. For real, not for hyperbole.

Dear Walther,

I'm confused. I have no doubt that you believe that our country is the product of its Judeo-Christian heritage and that heritage provides the basis for all that is good and moral, yet, you argue that taxation as a method for providing for the less fortunate in society is immoral when the both the Torah and the Bible mandate such taxes just for such a purpose?

What does that have to do with any modern economy? You'll notice that we're not living on remote islands.

However, anthropologists will tell you that people who do live in small groups on remote islands tend to actually have some pretty complex rules for what can even be considered private property.

Yup. It's just 'legal' because they protect one another. How I would dearly love to hit a magic 'reset' button and get an entirely new congress.

You realize Dr. Williams is a nationally syndicated columnist and this article was printed in major newspapers? You don't have to read it. This is still a free country. Put finger on mouse...click. You realize the IRS has driven many to suicide? I am trying to prevent some of those.

Your silly attempts to shut off political discourse will be ignored from now on.

Lucky thing for you that hijacking isn't anywhere near as serious a crime as rape. You're deliberately evading an entirely valid, if debatable point and trying to steer the topic of discourse to another subject, valid though it may well be. Start a thread on the horrors of rape if you like, but that subject is only obliquely relevant to the subject at hand. Dr. Williams could have used any other immoral crime to make his point.

The point is a majority should have no right to tyrannize, rob, rape or murder the minorities amongst them.

Seen this quote attributed to more than one individual, "Democracy must be more than two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner"

Let me apologize in advance if any sheep who happen to be reading this are disturbed by the preceding quote.

Rape is in no way associated in terms of pain, discomfort, or shock as a tax is.

Yours, and Dr. Williams, silly comparison isn't political discourse, its insanity and begs the question of what your educational level actual is.

For the record a I have meet a lot of dumb ass people with doctorate degrees.

People who can only resort to name calling are the one's whose education should be questioned.

Legalized theft is still immoral, it is still theft. Plain and simple. Raping, robbing immoral, don't matter if it is legal or not. What happened in Saddam's rape rooms with the consent of the government was still immoral.
