NY state, outside of a few areas in NYC, is not liberal. Voting Democrat does not equal liberal. Trust me, I grew up in that state

I never said that it did, did I? Outside of the New York City metro in New York state yes it is not as Liberal or Liberal at all, but when people say things like that they make it sound like the city is not the largest part of the state by far.

Do you understand the concept of relative vs. absolute growth? NY probably did grow in absolute numbers, but not relative. That's why it lost two house seats.

Do you not understand that no one was talking about that. There are plenty of third world countries that grew faster than the United States, would you say that they are going to overtake the United States?

The statistics are stunning. It seems like conservatism in a society is directly proportional with a low standard of living whereas the opposite is true for liberalism. The more conservative a society, the more likely it is to be plagued with things like: crime, poverty, illiteracy, inequality, political instability etc. On the other hand, the more liberal a society the more likely it is to be blessed with low crime rates, high levels of education, wealth, political stability, and less inequality among its citizens.

In fact if you study the Human Development Index (HDI) of countries around the world, you'll see that the most liberal countries - Norway, Sweden, Canada - consistently have the highest development rankings. On the other hand countries with the most conservative societies e.g. Pakistan, Nigeria, Uganda - consistently have the lowest development rankings.

It would be fair to make the deduction that a prerequisite of been a Third World country is having a conservative society and the a prerequisite of been considered a First World country is having a liberal society. Adding validity to my theory, even America which is considered to be fairly conservative among first world nations would be classed as wildly liberal among Third World Countries.

I know many conservatives will not be happy with this finding but the facts are there for all to see. Why do you think this pattern exists throughout the world?

And how many of those third world countries have rulers that keep all the money to themselves ?

Compare red states in the great plains to southern red states and you'll find a stark contrast. It's very simple. Southern states have the highest percentage of blacks in this country, with several states around 30% or higher (which is three times the national average). Blacks have higher dropout rates, higher crime rates, higher welfare/food stamp rates, higher poverty rates and fare worse on many other social and economic scales. The high percentage of blacks skews the entire south with negative statistics. The blacks who skew those numbers so negatively in the south also overwhelmingly vote Democrat.

This isn't intended as a racist statement, it's simply an uncomfortable fact. What you're trying to say is that these areas lag because they're Conservative. What you're actually saying is that these areas lag because they're where the highest concentrations of black people live, while trying to blame bible-thumping redneck Conservatives.
