Simple, because of the children that are produced. Children are the future, nothing else matters to a nation more then the children produced, because they will be the next generation.

Heterosexual marriages now end up with about half ending in divorce and that is without adding the heterosexual marriages in trouble and not in statistics....... They are the ones going for counceling in their droves, not to mention the polce time attending "domestic" dispute or investigating other marital crimes and murders............ looks like heterosexual marriage costs us fortunes and they are the ones we pay for.

Glad you think that my partner and I should be allowed to get married, as we have children. Medical science allows people to have children with no sex involved. Many hetero couples get married and never have children.
There is no requirement to have children in order to get married. In fact there are circumstances where the couple has to prove that they can not have children in order to get married.

What does your statement have to do with there being no requirement to reproduce in order to get married?
I personally believe that laws banning same sex marriage are unconstitutional. Eventually we will be allowed to marry in every state. There is no legal reason to deny the rights, and privileges granted by marriage to same sex couples.
