Emanuel was an investment banker. Either you don't know anything about Emanuel or you know nothing about Communists.
Slight correction--Rahm Emanuel was a crony to investment bankers. He earned an undergrad degree in Speech and Communication and went into politics after college, eventually becoming advisor to Pres. Clinton. Even though he had no prior banking, finance, or accounting experience he was given a job by an investment banking firm, where he made $16 million in 2 years of work.
I grew up in rural IL, lived in Chicago etc. and can 100% tell you that this is just Rahm grandstanding and the measure has no chance of passing.
All he is doing is trying to pass the buck that the gun crime in Chicago is the fault of *others* outside the city that bring the guns in. He refuses to crack down on the criminals and crime ridden areas, largely because Chicago is highly segregated and most of the people getting shot are minorities in bad neighborhoods. So, this is just 100% politics and a pass-the-buck measure. Emanuel won't call out the communities for the violence and they demand action so he waves his hands and proposes garbage legislation and then when it fails he blames those "downstate republicans". What a steaming pile of crap.
This measure would have ZERO impact anyway. Really really ironic that even if they passed all these laws nationally, the expectation is that the drug dealers importing BILLIONS in drugs wouldn't be able to bring in guns from the same places? LMAO!
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you don't know what the word "communist" means.
While I agree that the word is over-used. I've had long discussions about Chicago politics with my friend from Beijing and it is VERY much like how things work in China. One party controls everything....rampant cronyism and corruption. This of course is not Rahm's fault, it's been like this for over a hundred years and then some. I'm also not picking on the democrats because they could call themselves the giant pudding cup party and the end result is the same.
