According to a Rassmussen poll released this week:

"The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 39 percent of likely U.S. voters believe the government should require a church or religious organization to provide contraceptives for women even if it violates their deeply held beliefs.

50 percent disagree and oppose such a requirement that runs contrary to strong beliefs, while 10 percent more are undecided.

65 percent of Catholic voters oppose this requirement, as do 62 percent of Evangelical Christians, and 50 percent of other Protestants. Most non-Christians (56 percent) support the Obama Administration ruling."

Yes, and all of the other polls say its either much more of a 50/50 split, or that most catholics favor it.

This is a dead issue, even the Catholic bishops said that the "compromise" suited them fine.

Jesus, let it go.

Rasmussen proudly boasts that they poll "likely voters" and that their idea of likely voters are

Old

White

Men

Who are much more likely Republicans to begin with.

If the churches believed that physically abusing children is an important part of their religion, should they be excused from following that law too? Oh wait - the Catholic Church already is excused, in many cases...

Yet catholics still cling to their faith even when their faith is compromised. How they can dismiss and overlook what the priests have done is way beyond my comprehension.
