There is no city in the south that can compare to New York on a food level. New York has everything, plain and simple. The southern food is pretty simplistic and kinda repetitive. the south doesnt need to, but it sure does look like the north does, especially when they are trying to legislate something when all they have is their concrete jungles.

Barring Charleston the Southern cities are essentially the same but with worse crime rates overall.

No, you started the thread to probably incite a flame war between states. Also I have relatives in Georgia and my dad hunts with people from Tennesse. You compare southern cuisine with that of NYC. NYC's food is so diverse, tasty and good you can't even compare the two.
Enjoy eating your deep fried whatever. I'll enjoy some delicious Halal or Kebab.
No food anywhere can compare to a New York style pizza, but that's my personal favorite.
Totally agree (ex-NY here) and I'll add good Jewish style bagels as well.
