WestCobb is the perfect example for my point in the OP. People like him strive to divide. They consider conservative Christians ignorant and beneath them. They don't open their hearts or there minds. They should, but they wont. Oh well.

Well, at least you agree that MSBNC is the (actual) faux news station. You are learning!

I was a poor only child from a single parent household in Oregon. I didn't know many religious people and people were generally laid back. I watched my mother work her butt off, and at one point had 3 jobs.

I never even touched politics as a teen because I was unaware and didn't care. It was only after I had left high school and joined the military that I started paying attention to the world around me. I think the first book I read voluntarily was The God Delusion around 19-20. Religion interested me first, because I always wondered why religious people were so strange.

It was a slow transition into politics after I saw the scrutiny Bush received for his and his administrations' actions. I just became curious about everything going on, and after seeing some of the things politicians said, reading some philosophy and history, it made sense to me that democratic/liberal policies made more sense.

We let ourselves become divided, mostly, because of our views but a lot people don't even know why they believe what they do.
Just some food for thought.
I try and use logic and fact. Thats really hard with American politics.

I was a liberal until Carter came along.
