Two female soldiers filed suit on Wednesday to scrap the U.S. military's restrictions on women in combat, claiming the policy violated their constitutional rights.
U.S. News - Female soldiers sue to lift combat ban 'solely on the basis of sex'

As long as they can do the job, they should be allowed to fight in combat, right?

If we ever do have another draft, it will be of interesting note that it was women that sued for this equality, not men.

Yes, they should be allowed!

My youngest daughter is going into the military after her 2014 graduation. It's her intent to become a Navy pilot/SEAL.

I stand behind her 110%, so does her father.

That is the real question: Can they do the job?

Providing the training requirements are not lowered for women, like they were under Carter, I have absolutely no problem with women serving in any MOS within the military.

However, if there are two sets of standards, one for men and another for women, then I would strongly oppose women serving in the military, especially in combat positions. When Carter lowered the standards for women he demoralized the entire military, put peoples lives in danger, and turned the feminist movement into a bunch of hypocrites.

If individual women want to join the insanity that is a fire fight let them. So long as they don't expect to get out alive or completely sane.

From histories I have read many men act as if combat were just another game with rules and prisoners. Women seem to realize losing is guaranteed rape so they fight a lot more fiercely with no intention of ever surrendering. No rules, no prisoners, no mercy, no quarter.

Do men that join the military get that same choice? In other words, can they join but be promised that they won't end up in an front line infantry unit? If men don't get this choice, the women that join the military shouldn't be able to. If the men do, the women should have that same choice.

Pilot yes. SEAL don't think so. They don't accept women.

These women have no idea what they are asking for. Ask the men that have been in combat and they will tell you that it is nothing that you want to be involved in. They have this pie in the sky notion that it's a piece of cake. When they get there they will wish that it never happened. Be careful what you wish for.........you may get it.
