Women in combat is nothing new. It's been going on for centuries. Certainly not with the frequency of men but from ancient times there have been many female warriors of fame, especially in the Far East. Japan had the "ku-no-ichi" or female ninja, Korea had the "Damo", female police officers adapt in the use of most weapons in the Korean arsenal, China's Hwa Mulan and so on. I am sure you will find many western counterparts if you look.

Your right in a way, it only should matter to those female soldiers, who in life wish to be taken seriously as their male counterparts.

And to their family.

I am sure they are well aware of the dangers of the job, or they would not have signed up.
