How many stories have there been where cops shoot a homeowner that posed no threat, or battered down the door of the wrong house and terrorized it's occupants?
Cops should enjoy no special protections when commiting crimes.

What's sad is they had to pass a law protecting an ancient common law right to expell LEO's who act criminally. The courts are getting as dangerous to liberty as every wannabe dictator.

It doesn't surprise me that the GOP would back a bill such as this. They've worked hard to limit our freedoms, put the boot of big government on our throats and to undermine the values most Americans hold dear. The effect/practice of this particular legislation has already been held unconstitutional in Indiana. And the Governor will not sign it. That this is happening in an election year is good. Let all decent people in Indiana take note. Maybe they should have the right to shoot to kill legislators, on sight. Or idiot web forum posters as well. Now there's a thought!

HAHA! You claim the GOP is stepping on our freedoms but that is exactly what the bill is trying to stop. Cops overstepping their power and destroying our freedom.

There's SCOTUS caselaw anyways asserting the right to use force against LEO's in certain situations. John bad Elk v. U.S. is an example. It's not unconstitutional to allow this right, in fact, the Indiana courts ignored the SCOTUS on this matter asserting the right.

It is funny how some of us are programmed for short term success at the cost of freedoms, in the long run.

Then you need to add new restrictions, to fix what the first restriction messed up.

Everything is preemptive for us, filling the court system and making criminals out of nothing.

Instead of charging the guilty for an actual crime against an individuals freedom and property.

Here's the actual engrossed bill:

Bill Text: IN Senate Bill 1 - 2012 Regular Session | eLobbyist

For once, the reporting is accurate, though the original link spins the story into something awful.
