There's no way in hell they can justify shooting someone 12 times in the back. If he did fire on them first it's obvious they were in no real danger with his back turned, they could have wounded the guy and took him down with no problem. That's what they call under arrest New Orleans style I guess.
read the article and the other 2. no explanation of why the man was shot at all.
i cant do much with that. purely from the issue of shooting someone in the back, if you shoot at me and turn im going to shoot back at any target available this is not dodge city i dont have to shoot to the front. that went out with queens rules.

According to this part of the article it gave a reason why he was shot...so they say. These officers were reasssgned, they should be on leave pending the outcome of a IA investigation.
" Despite the fact that the seven officers involved in the incident have been reassigned, Superintendent Warren Riley has refused to answer "fundamental questions" about the shooting and maintains that Grimes fired upon his men first."

better put i could have said why did he shoot at them what prompted the event?
You have to understand the NOPD. There have been instances of New Orleans cops working as enforcers for local drug gangs. One was working as a hitwoman. Another, a woman cop, committed an armed robbery of a store killing the owners of the store as their children watched helplessly through the glass doors of the cooler as they hid. The kids called 911 and she was one of the responding officers. They knew her because she was their regular customer. The NOPD was so corrupt that the Department of Justice was very close to completely taking over the department to rebuild it from the ground up. I don't go to New Orleans because if the criminals don't get you, the cops might.
The Gangs of New Orleans - TIME
In the 1990s, a group of officers was arrested for operating a drug-dealing ring within the department. An N.O.P.D. officer hired a hit man to kill a woman who had reported police brutality. Antoinette Frank - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Antoinette Frank (born 30 March1971) is a former New Orleanspolice officer who was convicted of one of the most notorious crimes in recent New Orleans history: the robbery of a restaurant where she worked as a security guard, and the murders of three people, including her partner on the police force, who was also a security guard at the restaurant. Frank is one of two women on Louisiana's death row at the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women in St. Gabriel, Louisiana.
I saw this on the news, it doesn't make much sense, it seems the guy was a good person and had never been in any trouble, he did have a concealed wepon but was legally carrying, it looks like the cops were trigger happy. Sad deal.
