Maybe the only thing that Afghanis will get from this, is that after one whacko shot a bunch of them in cold blood, we did NOT make the rest of our soldiers relinquish our weapons afterward... except for a couple days later when "more important" *AMERICANS* showed up.

Great. In our misguided, stumblebum efforts to achieve a useless status of "politically correct", we insulted the Afghanis even more.

Is it November yet?

What a puss.
Think they know that the G.I's are tired of fighting wars that have no defined plan or moral efficacy?

From the Article;
In a sign of the nervousness surrounding the trip, a sergeant major abruptly told the Marines gathered to hear Mr. Panetta in a tent at Camp Leatherneck to get up, place their M-16 and M-4 automatic rifles and 9-millimeter pistols outside, and return unarmed. The sergeant major, Brandon Hall, told reporters that he was acting on orders.

“All I know is I was told to get the weapons out,” he said. Asked why, he replied: “Somebody got itchy — that’s all I’ve got to say. Somebody got itchy. We just adjust.”

Normally, American forces in Afghanistan keep their weapons when the defense secretary visits and speaks to them. The Afghans in the tent had not been armed to begin with, as is typical.

Gee, it couldn't possibly have anything to do with the crazy guy who murdered a bunch of civilians last week, could it?

Yep. And when we wanted to react to it, we didn't disarm our troops until some important *AMERICANS* were scheduled to show up at the base.

That'll show those Afghanis how concerned we really are for their welfare... if they hadn't already gotten the message.

Is it November yet?

Political Correctness (Censorship) is nothing more than an attempt,
to control the thinking of free men.

Who the hell cares whether the people in the tent with Panetta are armed, except Panetta? Is this really a problem that affects anyone's life?

Interesting logic.

Why would that matter?

Are you saying that American volunteers can't be trusted?

Well, our soldiers can't really do their job in Afghanistan without guns - we're the only form of order they have... When we leave, it'll devolve into a Somalia type state.
