I support the Administration in its push to protect the cross on the mountain. This story has angered me from Day 1 because I personally feel that Atheists are the scourge of the nation.
But i'm also not oblivious to the fact that nothing.....absolutely nothing....takes place in this Administration without being ran between the political filter between Barack Obama's ears. A person without conviction (ie. Obama) has no choice but to ensure his survival through other means, such as pandering. He could care less about this cross. The President has chosen politics over principle, as he always does, because it's an election year. It's blatantly obvious to me.
I suppose Romney, Santorum et al are just acting out of principle with no thought of how something they say or do might affect their campaigns?
You don't think this has anything to do with election year politics? You don't think that Obama is bruised over the Catholic/Birth Control issue? You don't think that Barack Obama feels the need to make inroads with Christians in a year when he's trying to get re-elected?
Of course you don't. Liberals have never been known for extraordinary foresight.
Foresight? I wouldn't brag if i were you.
I mean, make inroads with Christians? Hate to disappoint you, but the majority of people that voted for him last time were Christians, and the majority of his voters this time will be Christians.
LMAO....doesn't require much "foresight" to figure that out. But if you wanna think that knowing this little factoid makes you smart, be my guest. I'm all for people getting a good night's sleep.

Do you think? Perhaps they miscalculated the reaction of more than cathloiscs i recent desions also and that has effected the retreat.

Obama, Romney, Santorum, etc. all have the benefit of using their past records and accomplishments to tout their election-Year credentials, and rightfully so. However, saying you will do something while on the campaign trail is is different than actually doing it. Barack Obama, I believe, is pushing this cross issue because he may then be able to produce an accomplishment on something Christians care about (if he's successful). That makes it an election year pandering mission, not because he really cares about that cross in California.

That's because America is pre-dominantly Christian. So it stands to reason that most of Obama's voters are Christians. Which further stands to reason that this "cross mission" he's on is to pander to his voters....and perhaps to those who might otherwise question his religion. It's all political.
