Once we force insurers to pay $9 billion in new onerous fees, that are going to pass them onto us..

The Internal Revenue Service on Friday unveiled its proposal to raise tens of billions of dollars through annual fees on health insurers, prompting fierce criticism from industry groups who warn the costs will be passed along to consumers.

The
proposed rule from President Obama's healthcare law will be published for public consideration in Monday’s Federal Register.
The rule would assess annual fees on most insurers that would total $8 billion next year and rise thereafter, eclipsing $14 billion in 2018, according to the IRS. The fees would vary in size, depending on a firm’s net premiums, and would come due by Sept. 30 every year.

Yikes. If I have to pay $9 billion more for health insurance, I'll definitely have to take a second job and get a roommate.

After QE5 you might earn that much in devalued US dollars each week.

Question for those on the left, with making insurance providers pay 9 to 14 billion dollars in fees will health care insurance be cheaper or cost more?

Depends on the extent to which they're willing to cut executive salaries, advertising budgets, and other non-health-related overhead.

Yes. See, the thing I keep hearing is that it's all passed down to the consumer/employee/etc. So to keep this from happening, we must worship the corporations, give them everything, demand nothing - so that maybe then they'll throw a few crumbs our way. Meantime, we, the average working American, just keeps getting screwed.

Most of us have only a finite amount of money to work with. The more of that money that goes to taxes, health insurance companies and other related health expenses, the less we have to spend on "stuff."

Time for the 1%ers to start buying each other's stuff so they can keep making money?

I'm planning on doing most of my shopping at neighborhood yard sales this year.

Better than to pay high prices for the racket medical institutions and health insurance companies have going.

That is a good answer but I doubt that executives are going to take a pay cut and I would think that there would be a increase in advertising. We will find out in 14.

What is the justification of tacking on the 9 billion fee when the purpose of Obama care was to lower prices?
