Well, to be fair, the main reason the average black person receives more jail time for the same crime is because most black people have to resort to public defenders in court because they can't afford decent private counsel. Many can't afford decent private counsel because the median net worth of a black household is around $6-7k whereas the median net worth for a white household is around $100k. As a result of the majority of black people using public defenders because of their limited financial resources, much less time is spent litigating their criminal cases (it's not uncommon for a public defender to be representing 35-40 people at the same time) which ultimately leads to longer jail/prison sentences.
We are better than this. Really. We can actually benefit society. We are smart people. And all we can come up with is this constant drum beat of "it's not fair".
If you sell illegal drugs, then you are worthy of jail time. Doesn't matter if others get away with it or not. If you do it, you expose yourself to jail time. So don't do it.
Can you advance something positive that actually helps the black community?
