The left state that the Tea Party is fake and the occupy movement is real.

OWS holds no political affiliation and are not a political movement, unlike the tea party which was entirely political that's only purpose was to election the radical right wing politicians owned by the Koch's.

However both Ron Paul and Gary Johnson have openly supported OWS (Johnson even protested with them)

Well there are some that are worried about their 99% Spring being co-opted in order to "get out the vote". Doesn't say which party but you can assume it will be for the Dems.

Plus they ran out of money and their GA has been dissolved. This group is ripe for the picking for being co-opted.

Act5ually, that has already occured. The first "occupy" protest occured in the late 80's, and it's organizer has moved on to gain elected office.

It was called "Occupy Chicago" and its organizer is now the President of the US (Obama), and now you know where the current crop of "occupy" protest came from.

Most of the occupy movement lacks the prerequisite for holding any elected office over a local one, and that is being a member of the oligarchic plutocracy.

While the same is true for much of the Tea Party, who are largely just low class broke racists, there is much more money concentrated within their ranks, and a number of them ARE in the oligarchic plutocracy.
