Protesting against female genital mutilitation is a good idea but the method is a bit over the top.

Well, it's tasteless and a bit stupid, but hardly racist.

I lived in Europe long enough to know their sensibilities. If they thought this would actually offend someone, they wouldn't do it. They just have a different take on race and culture than we do. And they're not nearly as PC as we are.

1. Those who think she deserved this outrage, did you read the entire article or did you just look at the photo?
2. The event was a celebration of the arts.
3. The cake was created by an artist to bring attention to the African problem of female genital mutilation.
4. So as long as it's art, it's ok to offend an entire religion. But try if you dare insult a minority race through art then art be damned I guess.

Has anyone pointed out that the artist (also the head of the cake) is a black man?
