Oh, so you mean the people who already pay 70 percent of all Federal income taxes should pay more then. Are you a liberal by any chance?

If they pay rent they are paying steep regulatory taxes and property taxes which are often unfair. In Michigan, the school tax rate on rental property is four times the school tax rate on owner-occupied homes. How is that fair?

Citizens for Tax Justice (pdf) has the goods: combining all taxes, federal, state, and local, we get this:

The overall system is barely progressive at all. For all those championing the Flat-Tax -- WE ALREADY HAVE IT! Everyone roughly pays taxes in proportion to their earnings.

The people peddling this stuff about those who don’t pay tax because their incomes are low know all this, because it has been pointed out many times. These people are deliberately trying to deceive the public for their own self-serving motives -- they want the poor to pay more so the affluent pay less.

Did it ever occur to you that we're not talking about state and local taxes?

Of course it did. But you're not capable of staying on topic because it doesn't feed in to the bullschit that you peddle as Barack Obama's mouthpiece.

Default Can Someone Tell Me How It's "FAIR" That 47% of American's Pay ZERO Federal Income Taxes?

How can anyone logically argue for the rich to "pay their fair share" of federal income taxes when in fact 47% of American's pay ZERO federal income taxes?

Yes, most people pay payroll taxes (Social Security, Medicare, etc). Those monies go to fund specific priorities, so there's no need for the obtuse to come forth and deflect. We're talking Federal INCOME taxes.....the money that goes to fund the public goods and services that we American's consume.

How is it "FAIR" that millions of a American's pay ZERO in light of the current class warfare schtick being pushed by the Left?

Where's the "fairness?"

I can 'splain it.

The GOP sank the economy. Millions of Americans who used to earn enough to pay taxes are now earning below the minimum.

The GOP wants a policy that will "Expand the base and cut the rate."

Translation: they want those with the lowest earnings to start paying more and those with the highest earnings to pay even less than they do now under the Bush tax cuts.

Let me know if I used words that were too big.

What kind of asinine question is that? Should everyone be allowed to save for a rainy day or age related layoff before paying taxes? Why do poor people deserve special treatment?

You started off your post with a fallacy. Therefore the rest of your post is just nonsense spew.

The top 1% earn about 20% of all income and are taxed at about 22% of all income.
