I support steep penalties, esp financial, on criminals. I would have them make full financial restitution (plus punitive damages), lose their vote, and grovel in poverty until they pay it.

Which amounts to 70% of all Federal taxes that are paid. Keep deflecting...

Considering that the top 25% own 90% of the country's wealth and income, one can argue that they are not paying enough taxes.

So far, no one has put forth a logical attempt. All we've gotten so far is deflection and obfuscation. No one wants to admit that it's not logical to argue for the rich to "pay their fair share" when in fact 47% of American's aren't paying ANY federal income taxes.

The class warfare schtick pushed by the Left falls flat on its face once again.

I agree with the idea that everyone should have some skin in the game. I would exempt the15% in poverty, but the 30+% above that who pay NO FEDERAL INCOME TAX should in all "FAIRNESS" pay something for the benefits they derive from living in this country. Everyone should be willing to contribute.

What is not fair about a flat rate on all discretionary income? Since I don't know how much of the discretionary income the rich have, I don't know what their fair share is.

Has their never been a time when you didn't pay any? What about when your business was a startup, did you never operate at a loss and not pay yourself? When your startup expenses were more than your income? That's a pretty common scenario, I would imagine, for entrepreneurs.

Again, I doubt this is just a "recipient class" issue.

How much federal income tax should a minimum wage burger flipper pay?
