That puts a different spin on it if you're opinion is right. Just that IF the cartels offed JTR ain't the same as those people hoping to off Sheriff Joe. Few people care about a neo Nazi or New Black Panther person or even a tatted up, drugged out vato being hit. If Joe got hit: there'd be hell to pay cause the "red line" just got crossed. I won't say any more.
I'm positive that it'll come out that the cartels had nada to do with this. They don't care about this dude one bit. He's no threat to them anyway.

I don't know why. But i still can't see the cartels giving a rip about some no-name candidate running for sheriff in a county as lame as Pinal. Hell, he can't do anything to them even if he won. They could just lure him out to a desolate area of the county on a false call and kill him....easily. That county has so many nooks and crannies that they'd never find his body.

Sheriff Babeu is becoming a thorn in the cartel's side and maybe those cartels are mad about a nutcase like JTR getting in as Sheriff in Pinal. Babeu has some big problems that may cost him his job. Like you, I'm guessing.
