Well I've been to Tampa, and thats a pretty ugly area of town.
Working in downtown Detroit, you learn a few things.
1. Your wallet is not worth a fight
2. Only care minimum amounts of cash on you
3. There are certain streets you don't go down at 3 AM.
Life sucks, I'm sure somewhere a white person and kid committed a crime last night. Odds are for it.
Why is this news?
My goodness.....you certainly seem to have an appeasers mindset. Evil seems to be acceptable to you because it's beyond your control. It's a wonder you haven't been a constant target for all things criminal. You seem to welcome the target on your back because, quite simply, "life sucks" and will be what it will be.
I prefer a more defensive stance. I question everything. I might be wronged by someone, but it won't come easily.

Damn it, your posts are really annoying and I'm not even a Liberal. Does everything have to come down to Liberal v. Conservative? BTW, I highly doubt Memphis is a Liberal from what I read from many of his posts.

You sound like you're blaming the victim. If this area is that dangerous, put in a curfew.
He wasn't blaming the victim. It's a simple and unfortunate fact that senseless crime happens way too often in poor urban areas.
