I'm not talking about that. I'm talking what YOU were saying. You were the one saying that "China isn't stupid" and "Why would China want people that cannot read, comprehend and analyze English ?", as to assume that Blacks can't speak, read, or comprehend English.
I don't care "what is". I care about how it affects people like me at the end of the day. I did not ask you if that is what was going on. I asked if you thought that was okay to assume that because someone is Black, they can't speak or read English properly.
And by the way, one has to have a good command of the English language just to get through college.

Well green_mariner you are getting sucked into the perception that minorities aren't as smart as White people.
Of course I don't agree with it. But those racial bias lawsuits that keep cropping up because minorities can't pass tests do NOT put forward a good perception of the education attainment of minorities.
Our test scores and their breakdowns all across the spectrum of K-12 and public sector jobs are public knowledge.
You think other countries don't study them ? Other countries don't care about diversity. They want skilled and proficient teachers.

What lawsuits?
How many have there been, like 3?
I am black and I only know of 3 of them.
And FWIW, one of the three involved a relative of mine who didn't even know he was involved in the lawsuit (the 1995 Firefighters case in the city of Chicago).
But we reviewed the material and it did show a bias was used to exclude black people. They even had memos from upper level persons in the department stating that they wanted to limit the amount of black candidates. And that case was based upon a similar one filed by white firefighters in Chicago lol.
Don't base racial stereotyping on silly law suits.
The stereotype of black people being ignorant has been around for hundreds of years and is not a recent phenomenon.

Actually, no. I am not getting sucked in. I am simply stating that I don't care why someone would have the perception of me that they do. I care about what that perception does to me.
And furthermore, how can someone assume that a person who has made it through college, and has the credentials on paper, can't read or speak English based on the race of that person? What do those schools in China know?
Wanted to also mention that I know a couple black people who have taught in China and they enjoyed their time there. One is still teaching in China. I have another friend who taught in S. Korea and another in Vietnam (they are much more popular these days it seems with trying to get foreign nationals to come and teach in international schools or teach English to Vietnamese youth).
We should not stereotype the Chinese as bigots just like we shouldn't stereotype blacks as stupid and ignorant.
From what I know from the persons I knew/know who have lived and taught in China is that they were looked favorably upon for being American. They mentioned that Africans and other black people, not American, were not treated as well as they were/are.
There is prejudice everywhere. No one is immune but there are also thoughtful, inclusive, non-discriminatory persons everywhere too.

If they want skilled and proficient teachers, what is so hard at looking at the resume/CV and the credentials on that resume? The test scores for the group don't tell everything about the individual.
If I want someone who has credentials and qualifications, I am going to look at that person's resume, and what kind of education/skills that person has. A photo of that person tells me nothing. The race of that person tells me little. That person's skill level, not everyone else, just that person's credentials tell me more than the face does. Why not hire that person? If you want someone skilled, look at the skills of the person, not the race.

Well, the schools that hired them obviously understood the skill levels that they had. That is a good thing.

True. This is why I think the way I think. This idea of "Blacks are stupid and ignorant" has been around for a long time. It is nothing new. Because it is nothing new, I have to consider that this is just the old way of thinking, that old ways don't die easily.
