It's pointless to even go over, because in your statement alone you have already a predetermined opinion on the matter. As myself on the other hand, I am willing to acknowledge that both parties have both positives and negatives on their checklists when it comes to "what have you done for minorities" argument.
I dont want republicans to do anything for me,I just dont want them to do anything to me.
LOL honestly...I think it is. One thing I whole heartedly agree with Larry Elder on is when he outlined the 3 things blacks at a financial and social disadvantage could do to make it easier on themselves...1) Graduate High School 2) Do not have any babes out of wedlock or before a certain age and 3) Stay away from crime. What was his argument? Do all 3 of the above and you should manage pretty well in life. I happen to agree with him. From personal experience with friends and family (all of whom are black) some of them chronically suffer in poverty from one of the above or a combination of them.
Whoever thinks a High School Diploma will get you out of poverty is still living in the 50s.
Is cutting Pell Grants for College something was would encourage minorities to get off welfare. Wait, no...that can't help!
Also, people on here talk like welfare is so easy to get like in the 70s. You have to work. So ok...let's get the poor people off welfare and make them work. S
Well, it still kept everyone in poverty or VERY close to it. So, we still have a problem don't we. But, heck...let's cut Pell Grants! SMH.
Um for myself personally...if the government were to cut off their support to me be it for college or anything else...I would not starve and remain uneducated. lol That being said, if I were ever in that circumstance I'd probably wise up and make more fiscally and socially responsible choices. Im not here to preach...I'm just sayin'.
Hypothetically, if I were a budding college student, and for some odd reason if I didn't qualify for a scholarship or a grant, and there were no public and private loans available...I would probably just go to a community college and transfer to a cheap 4 year program and get my education that way. Cutting Pell grants wouldn't prevent me from doing so.
He mentioned two races of people so I said people of color.
Say since you are a proponent of this terminology, I have a question: are "white hispanics" categorized as "people of color" or not?
I want to make sure I have the full understanding of precisely how the left is dividing us up these days, into various and sundry racial classifications.

No, but without that or a GED it will keep you from gaining on subtantive form of higher education. That isn't so "1950's", that's a cold hard reality.
Funny enough, I notice that you didn't say a word about Elder's other points lol. I guess you couldn't critisize them and therefore chose to remain silent.
That's utter nonsense. It weakens the economy to have any able-bodied people dependent on government. The Dems are for increasing educational opportunities for marginalized populations and creating more opportunities for upward mobility. I can't believe people actually swallow without thinking, that ignorant, obviously partisan mud-slinging quote.
The term "people of color" was invented by people of color themselves. It has nothing to do with who is employed and who isn't.
Same question for you, Ruth4Truth. Do you categorize 'white hispanics' as 'people of color' or no?

Sure. In order to pay for for all that, we will have to assume that you will have to work full time. Cause we all know, since you don't have a degree, you're not making decent money. So ok, you can only afford to take one or MAYBE two classes a semester. Because you really can't afford tuition PLUS books. Remember, you still have bills to pay and need to eat everyday. This is in a perfect world. Because if you're lucky, that job you have is stable and secure. Oh, and also very flexible so you can attend class. Because in the end it will always be work over school. You have to survive, right? Yeah....you should have that degree in 4 years tops!
The majority of food stamp recipients are white, but these bigoted men seem to be incapable of comprehending the reality in America today.
percentage wise no they are not.
Conservatives seem to have a problem helping individuals and families in true need,
republicans donate more than democrats. (granted many republicans are conservative in name only but the writer probably doesn't know that)
Gingrich, Walsh and the majority of conservatives seem to pick and choose when they want the government's help and when they don't to suit their agenda.
Nailed it.
You are a tea party person I could talk to. Get rid of the ones who are only concerned with Obama and I will be right on board with smaller Gov and drastic welfare reform. Hard look at taxes etc.....
