It's about damn time we stopped ignoring Africa.

And, kudos to Obama for once again challenging China. Unlike his Republican and Democratic predecessors, he's out to confront Chinese ambitions and isn't kissing their azz like we've done since G.H.W. Bush was our first ambassador there. And, as we would once again with Romney in the White House.

Okay, and then what? Romney has pledged to increase defense spending above current plans, hasn't he? I can't think of a single Obama war or conflict which Romney has pledged to disengage from. Can you?

Basically, Americans who agree with Eisenhower's warnings about the military-industrial complex have no acceptable candidates among the two major party nominees.

Then please explain why the Chinese are buying up US real estate under the Obama administration.

Quote:
China has emerged as one of the fastest-growing sources of international buyers for US real estate

"When you look at how cheap US real estate is now compared with China, it makes a lot of sense to buy there, especially since you have more rights when you own a property in America," said a wealthy Chinese investor who has bought several properties in the US but asked not to be named so as not to draw attention to the fact of shifting assets abroad.

For the same reason any other country or their nationals buy real estate in the US: It's a safe investment. If you had extra money you wanted to invest in real estate, where would you do it? Somalia? Greece? Russia?

And, it's a good thing if the Chinese are investing here. When, not IF, push comes to shove, we can freeze or seize their assets and deprive them of all that money.

So? What's wrong with taking the fight to where the enemy is? Would you prefer we invade another country to "draw them in?"
