the sad part is that contempt of congress means actually nothing, and it just makes for good theater in this bread-and-circuses world.

there will be no punishment or prosecution, and citizens will have no protection from their own government.

what lesson has been learned, really?

That Congress would rather play political theater instead of actually doing their jobs -- Dems and Repubs alike. For a group of people who are supposed to ensure the correct job creating conditions, they do an absolutely terrible job.

This is all political theater. Just like it was when the republican congress members walked out of a contempt vote back in 2008. Nothing will come of it. Now instead of investigating what actually happened, they are seeking out stuff in the wrong direction. The Republican care about the dead agent as much as the Democrats do....can't argue that.

In fact, the problem is that pro-gun rights law have set up the circumstances that made F&F even possible.

Gun sales are legal. Gun transfers are legal. Gun transfers are only illegal if you can prove the intent of the purchase was illegal.

Those are the laws the NRA lobbied for and those are what allowed "gun walking" to even happen.
Exactly. No one wants to look at the actual source of the problem, which are the shoddy AZ laws regarding guns. Why didn't this happen in other border states, like TX and CA? Idk for a fact, but I'd assume the gun laws are much stricter to prevent this kind of thing from happening.

It is political theatre at its best. It seems they cannot think of anything more important to do. They love to cry about spending and debt etc, but when there is an opportunity for character assasination, then that always takes the top priority. We need to vote these clowns out of the office ASAP.

I guess some people don't know the NRA has purchased some Dems also.

Unfortunately, once we replace them, the new guys will be bought up by the corporations. The main thing we need to do is get the money out of politics. That will open their mouths to what they truly believe.

Side note: how much is Congress needed anymore? They were put in place during a time when high-speed technology was not available to communicate the voices of the people. Now with the Internet and companies like Apple and Google, we can learn everyone's choice in a matter of seconds. I don't need somebody to represent me if sending my choice over the air is actually much faster and has less obstacles.

It's nice to know that the Demoncrats care more about party politics than they do about justice and law & order. Rules? Laws? Who cares ... they are for White Republicans right?
At least 17 Democrats had the courage to put decency before politics. Shame on the racist crybabies that walked out.
This is a great post! +1
