Ridiculous. Laws are complicated. Senators don't have time for reading every word of a bill. Rand Paul just wants to stop the government from doing anything.
Not sure if you are joking or not. Seriously?
Laws do not have to be complex. Basically, they use their own language and "complexity" to "confuse". Anything can be broken down into smaller less complex components.
I hope you don't actually think it is ok that bills get passed w/o reading them? Like signing a contract w/o reading it.

Wow.
I tell ya people. Let's just all give thanks that Liberals were not a big part of founding our country. You can only imagine what the Constitution would have contained. Thousands of pages of rules and regulations. Thousands of pages dictating the power the government has over all.

What is it they do when they enact bills they haven't read and don't understand?
This is how bad it is folks, we need a law to force them to read the laws they enact.
Although such a law wont help the dolts understand what they are voting on nor ensure that they read the bills at all, it will slow the works down.

You think you maybe want to pull a "Holder" here and retract this statement ?

Funny, on one day some want government to act like a business, but then the next day, you want them to spend the time doing what they have staff's that are paid good money to do, and in many cases might be a little more knowledgeable in the topic (since many come from the industries that the legislation is being written about). Not very cost effective.
Let's see, they have
400 Chief's of Staff,
300 Deputy chief of staff,
300 Legislative director,
900 legislatve assistants (they are the ones that write the bills, or take a outside contribution and format it for legislation),
400 legistlative correspondent,
160 press secteary,
200 communication directors,
150 personal assistant,
300 caseworkers,
1100 staff assistants.
and many others working for them - including interns......
Im sure one of these folks, have the time to read a bill........

Oh please. If they cant read the bill and understand it, then they need to have shorter/smaller bills. These Senators and Congressman are doing what should be PART TIME work. This was never meant to be a full time job. Just what do they do all day anyways?
Dont tell me they dont have time to sit down and read bills. Like I said, they do part time work, for full time pay with great benefits. If we had any sense in our nation, we never wouldve allowed this to be a full time gig, having being spent on tv, radio, campaigning, ie bull crap
And why is it the most likely people to oppose the reading/understanding of bills, seem to be liberals?
