Not necessarily a bad assumption about you or your character, just that I think you voted for Obama because he's a minority.
Why are you questioning my motives, after I already stated that race was not a factor? Why is it so hard for you to believe a black person could vote for Obama for the same reasons as a white person? Surely you don't believe every white person voted for him because he's black. Why can't you give me the same consideration? Also, perhaps you can explain why I have chosen to not vote for him in November, given his minority status.

I don't know. I just have a tough time believing that race wasn't a factor in the vast majority of black people's voting decisions in 2008. I DO in fact believe many white people voted for him because he was black. I don't mean to be inconsiderate or offend you. I'm glad a black person was voted President, it was an important step for this country. I feel like it was the final turning point where racism in this nation now is an exception and not a rule, the final fruition of the civil rights movement.
You have chosen not to vote for him in November because he's a failure and you're fed up with the political machine in this nation.

The fact that you cannot fathom that people are individuals capable of making individual choices is condescending, paternalistic, and just all around problematic. What is it about your psyche that makes you believe that you are superior in the area of critical thinking? Exactly how far in the sand is your head buried?
