In a unanimous decision by an 11-member special committee, the Boy Scouts of America have upheld their traditional discipline with respect to homosexuality.
"The Scouts' chief executive, Bob Mazzuca, contended that most Scout families support the policy, which applies to both leaders and Scouts.
'The vast majority of the parents of youth we serve value their right to address issues of same-sex orientation within their family, with spiritual advisers and at the appropriate time and in the right setting,' Mazzuca said. 'We fully understand that no single policy will accommodate the many diverse views among our membership or society.'"

It is morally wrong to deny a person from a social and service organization based on their sexuality. It is morally wrong to enforce homophobic beliefs in an organization that at one time was well respected.
I'm glad my parents pulled my brother out when they did. He is straight, but who knows how he would have turned out in that kind of environment. Not the morally upstanding 23 year old that he is today, certainly.
