When the UK pays for its own defense and bank bailouts THEN I'll worry about my "own damn country" buddy.
Wow just wow! You've paid for their defense? WWII was it? You need reminding that by the time you had changed your thinking from Joe Kennedy's and Lindbergh's "it's not our war"; Britain had already staved off actual invasion by winning the air war. Since then you haven't fought one battle or incurred one cost for defense of anyone other than your own business or geo-political interests.
Here's a thought; one could easily argue that the boogyman in the room we all needed hypothetical defending from was created by YOU! Here's another; you haven't won a war since Korea and that one is still a draw to this very day so how was it again you defended any other country from anything, oh wait, I know, you restored Kuwait to it's ownership by oil-rich Shieks ` well done on that!
Bank bail-outs; oh my, this from the citizen of the country that insisted on deregulating the banking industry, lowering mortgaging rules and instituting senate forced compliance by at least two of your major mortgage houses to provide mortgages to people who could not afford to buy a home.
Through that aforementioned de-regulation YOU allowed the formation of risk based equities to be sold like so much used toilet paper on the world market precipitating the biggest melt down since the depression but somehow those Brits are performing poorly?
Deflection of the first order my fine deluded friend.
While Britain lauded it's national health care program publicly for all to see, I find it strange the only nation to find that objectionable is the one who will allow it's own citizens to face bankruptcy, or even worse, because they cannot afford their prescription drugs. 2012 you say?
Why do we have to inject debt-based progressiveness into something that should be about athletic achievement?
The UK ought to be ashamed of what they've done to the Olympic Movement.
Wow that is some pretty scary brainwashing going on there. Olympic athletes, who presumably, are the epitome of health, coupled with hospital beds and nurses?
That is just wrong on so many levels. Glad I don't waste my time watching this kind of garbage.
Only conservatives should be in charge of the purse strings.
Progressives need adult supervision.
conservatives were in charge dor 12 years and we are still trying to recover from the damage.
As for the ceremony, i thought it was pretty average and low budget. Some people see a political conspiracy in everything, even in the Olympic ceremony. LOL.

You didn't watch it but you're willing to pass judgement on the entire show?
So while you dedicate your life to enjoying watching reasoned, intelligent people be offended, others are trying to figure out a way to PAY for your liberal flights of fancy.

The interesting thing you failed to point out is that the U.K. is in a recession after electing CONSERVATIVES AS THE MAJORITY IN PARLIAMENT. They then proceeded to follow a CONSERVATIVE POLICY OF AUSTERITY while the country was slowly recovering for the global financial crises. It's CONSERVATIVE GOVERNMENT POLICIES that are the main reason the U.K. is in a recession.

And very boring!
