I'm willing to bet we have subs of of their shores, as well as China's. I'm sure they're well aware of it too. So what do you propose? Should we sink their sub, and cause an international incident?

False flag. If it were true it would have never made it to the press.

MASINT assets in the Gulf would have picked it up.

More than likely a staged disinformation event probably aimed at the Chinese.

I don't propose the US do anything.

I just think it's interesting that Cyrus.. er.. Putin is testing weaknesses in the USA's wall of invincibility.

Interesting if it's true. Google Earth has a setting to show ship wrecks and U boats litter the Atlantic floor.

Default What a coincidence.

Shortly after suggested cuts in the defense budget, an unverifiable report about Russien submarines close to US shores - ehm - surfaces. What are the chances?

Anybody who believes that sub was undetected is a moron.

No. Not really.

But it's very good at detecting Russian subs in the Gulf of Mexico.

Try to find an actual source for this story in that entire tendentious article.

Hint: You won't.

Here's your first clue that the claim is total, unadulterated bull****.

One official said the Akula operated without being detected for a month.
Just chew on that assertion for a couple moments. Go ahead. Think deeply about what it says.

If you can't figure out then that people are pulling nonsense out of their asses, then... well, you're just not that smart.
